Issue #14: Wacky ideas that don't include bribes, threats, or smiley faces made out of food. Plus: a little June photo dump and a roundup of product recs!
Frankly, you should have 651K subscribers. These are gold. As someone who is in full push, beg, demand mode with my toddler’s dinner, I’m baffled I haven’t thought of any of these strategies. Thank you!
This is one of the nicest pieces of feedback! Thank you so much Mackenzie — I feel like I’m just starting out still BUT I would love to make that subscriber count happen 😂 I hope these strategies work! Feel free to send to other mom friends too!
My mom offered to feed my daughter like a little bird when she was having a hard time eating on a trip recently. I was not into it and dreaded it becoming a regular thing, but honestly it’s helped on the nights we just need her to eat something. I’ll keep you updated on what we try.
There are such creative and fun ideas! Fortunately, my older kids have outgrown the stage of being picky eaters and now will usually always eat everything on their plates, but oh man it is tough with the toddler to get nutrients in him! I'll tuck some of these ideas away and try them out! One of our go-to's currently is for him to sit on my lap and share my plate with me, even though he has the same things on his, he just likes the closeness of sharing food with Mommy. Thanks for sharing!
Love this list! We play an absurd game where I pretend my toddler has eaten me and I need pieces of food to build a ladder/raft/boat to get out of his stomach. "Help meeee help me! Send down a green bean!" I make silly sound effects as I hoist myself out. It's hilarious and very very silly. (It's inspired by a combo of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and Burt Dow, both great kids books)

All about the rebranding! I often tell my husband “it’s all about the marketing.” Great piece!
Thanks Jenna!! Totally agree

That is a very good strategy too!! You’re right that often they just crave the closeness

HAHA that’s epic. I will keep that one in mind next time I’m out of luck with my usuals!
Thank you for sharing this. We’re struggling to get any proper food into our daughter, so we’ll definitely try some of these tips.
So glad you got some ideas from this! Let me know if they help :)
